SPECIAL PROGRAM ON ALEVI SACRED MUSIC
According to Ali Doğan Gönültaş, “In Alevism, knowledge was conveyed through folk songs sung by Dede, Zakir and Ashik. Hundreds of years old folk songs have come to this day thanks to them. Alevis call tembur as the stringed Qur’an. They say that you can understand the meaning of the 4 holy books with tembur.” Ali offers a special thematic program a solo.
WORKSHOPS
Ali can provide workshops on Kurdish music for a general public (2 hours) or for professionals of music (longer, up to 12 hours). We have developed two different extended workshops:
- Workshop of music of the Kurdish regions within the borders of Anatolia, in which the participants will perform 3 traditional songs from different Kurdish regions of Anatolia.
- Distinguish the musical differences of 4 different Kurdish regions with their basic features.
- Workshop of performance of traditional Kurdish music, in which the participants will learn to sing 7-8 traditional songs from 4 different Kurdish regions of Anatolia (Serhad, Dersim, Botan, Hekari-Colemerg).
In both of them, the participants will be able to develope a further in-depth study on their own, once they have tools for listen that will allow them to analyse other examples and other teachers and enrich their performance.

In 2022 Ali Doğan was signed by the son of the old master Seîdê Goyî, a dengbej (singing storyteller) of traditional Botan music, to arrange the pieces and be the producer of the EP Stranên Dilê Min (songs of my heart, in Kurdish) (available to listen here). In June 2023 they released a new album, Jinê, that you can listen to here.
